In the mid 1930s, Paderewski expressed a wish to establish free music education for talented youth in Paso Robles, a community where he once owned large ranches with vineyards and almond groves. This year’s anniversary edition of the Festival will honor Paderewski’s initiative to bring music to fellow Californians by making all concerts during the 2010 Paderewski Festival in Paso Robles free of charge. The 11&1/2 Polish Film Festival Los Angeles (just to get our dear audience used to the new timeframe of the 12th Film Festival in October of 2011) is around the corner, and we look forward to celebrating with you the achievements of Polish filmmakers from October 14 to 21, 2010.
At the Gala Opening at the Lćmmle's Sunset 5 on October 14th we will present LITTLE ROSE (Rozyczka) by Jan Kidawa-Blonski.

The Gala Opening is a very special evening and is crucial to supporting our weeklong celebration of Polish films in Los Angeles. For this reason, the Gala Opening is by invitation only to supporters of the Festival [becoming a supporter is easy with a minimum donation of $30.00 before October 1, 2010 ($15.00 without reception)]. VIP seats are available for a minimum donation of $60.00. Space is very limited, so please make your donation early to secure yourseat. In the segment of movies made by Polish filmmakers abroad we will present PLAYER by Alina Szpak.

To celebrate the 600-year anniversary of Grunwald Battle we will present THE TEUTONIC KNIGHTS (Krzyzacy) by Aleksander Ford.

In the documentaries segment we will present THE LABYRINTH (Labirynt) by Jason A. Schmidt, IRENA SENDLER. IN THE NAME OF THEIR MOTHERS by Mary Skinner, TOURNEE by Andrzej Mankowski, BEATS OF FREEDOM by Wojciech Slota & Leszek Gnoinski.

In the animation category we will present a layout of films prepared by Balbina Bruszewska produced by Se-Ma-For Production Company.

The Festival continues to grow each year by screening more films and drawing larger crowds. As we expand, we seek increased support for this truly unique and rewarding "Holiday of Polish Cinema."
