The 11th Annual Polish Film Festival Los Angeles is around the corner, and we look forward to celebrating with you the achievements of Polish filmmakers from April 20 to May 2, 2010.

At the Gala Opening at the Egyptian Theater on the 20th of April we will present THE COURAGEOUS HEART OF IRENA SENDLER (Dzieci Ireny Sendler) by John Kent Harrison; the film is dubbed in Polish and has English subtitles. We are expecting the presence of Anna Paquin, Marcia Gay Harden, Goran Visnijc, Danuta Stenka, Jan A. P. Kaczmarek, Waldemar Kalinowski, Brent Shields, Jeff Most and John Kent Harrison.

The Gala Opening is a very special evening and is crucial to supporting our weeklong celebration of Polish films in Los Angeles. Mass commemorating the late President of the Republic of Poland, His Excellency Lech Kaczynski, First Lady Maria Kaczynska, Members of the Polish Government and Parliament, Dignitaries, and Representatives of the Katyń Families who died in a plane crash on Saturday, April 10th, 2010 as well as 22.000 Polish officers and intelligentsia, killed in the Katyn Massacre 70 years ago.

Roger Cardinal Mahony cordially accepted the role of the main celebrant of the prayer.

The Book of Condolences will be open in a side Chapel of the Cathedral
before and after the prayer.
